One bottle of wine per person...corkage fee?

I have read that you can bring on a bottle of wine per person as long as carried on. I have never done this.

questions:

Is there a fee for this?

Can you have during dinner?

 

Anyone done this recently?

Yes, you can bring one bottle of wine or champagne per person in your carry on.

 

No fee if you drink it in your cabin but you may be charged the corkage if you bring the bottle to the dining room.

 

We have been hit or miss with the wait staff charging the corkage fee.

There is a cordage fee IF you have the bottle opened in the MDR.

You can bring your full wine glass to the MDR. You cabin steward can give you a corkscrew and wine glasses. You can also get wine glasses from any bar.

So seems like some wait staff cage others don 't. Anyone know the fee? If it is a low fee it may still be worth it to bring a good bottle on and pay the fee-still less than wine list mark up I am sure!

IIRC the corkage fee is $10. (It might have been raised recently to $15.)

It's $10 in the MDR but $14 or $15 in the Steakhouse.

To get around the corkage fee we ask our steward to make sure we always have 4 white wine glasses in our stateroom and bring a large glass of wine to the DR on evenings when we want wine.
