floridacruisegirl Posted March 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2013 Two friends are booked in a cabin and have already made final payment. One friend can no longer go on the cruise. Since we are now 15-29 days away from cruising, her cancellation fee is 75%. But, if she cancels and receives 25% back from NCL, doesn't that mean that my other friend who is booked in the cabin would need to pay an additional fare / single supplement fee (equivalent to the cost of an additional person)? Is it better to just do nothing at all and have the friend who can't go on the cruise just be a no-show with no official cancellation of her cruise beforehand? What about port taxes? Can that be refunded if my friend is a no-show? She's willing to forego the cost she paid for the cruise so that my other friend does not need to spend extra money for the single supplement. Your help in explaining how this works is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
