volfan4ever Posted March 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Anyone ever book an aft balcony room on the Freedom ? Looked at a cruise and all of the aft balcony rooms on the Empress were full, but all on the upper deck were empty. Is it because they're just above the International Lounge and the noise ? gail811 Posted March 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Noise should not be too much of an issue. It is usually louder the further you are up the hall. We have been on that deck on the Freedom, and Glory with no problems.
marciemi Posted March 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2013 We were just on the Freedom in January and had a corner aft on Empress (7440). We checked out the other possible corner afts for future reference. As stated above, the louder parts of the lounge were further down the hall. Being in a true aft, you'd actually be above the storage areas, etc. However, you're not that far from the lounge itself, so if you're an early to bed person who is really irritated by noise (yes, that would be me) then I probably would avoid it. But if mild noise doesn't bother you and you plan to be out late anyway, then it would definitely be fine. You're not right above the speakers or band or anything horrible in other words but there probably will still be "some" noise.
