Both beaches are gorgeous, though Trunk Bay is a bit larger.

Trunk Bay has an underwater snorkeling trail. You have to swim a little bit to get out there, but once you're there, it's pretty neat. You will see fish, coral, sponges. On the day we were there the water was a bit murky due to some volcanic ash in the air from a recent eruption, so we didn't see much in the way of colorful coral. The changing facililites and showers are OK. The overall scenery in the Trunk Bay vicinity is spectacular.

At Coki Beach, there are instructors who give scuba and snorkeling lessons who always seem to have dog biscuits handy to give to the fish. If you hang out in their vicinity you'll see some goergous fish. You won't see coral and sponges as much as you'll see pretty fish. The changing facilities and showers are not as nice as Trunk Bay's, but they'll do.

You won't go wrong with either choice. Coki has a light advantage in bad weather, though. You can always opt to go to Coral world, which is right next door. If it weather is bad at Trunk Bay, you just need to get back on a taxi to town.
