debs4ou Posted June 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2004 Has anyone been on the snorkel tour on the Alaunt with Captain Ron and Carol? WE are booked for June 8 and were just curious how it went.
thecleave Posted June 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2004 Yes! My husband & I sailed with Captain Ron & Carol during our vacation in St. Thomas in March. We had a fantastic time! We were the only passengers, which was really nice. We stopped so I could snorkel for about 45 minutes, while my husband soaked up the sun. We sailed a little longer and found a quiet cove to have a delicious lunch. Ron made a caesar salad, with chicken, rice and beans. For dessert he made bananas flambe (with plantains - my husband reminded me), which we loved, even though bananas aren't our favorite. We sailed a little longer, but then ran into a major rainstorm! Carol made sure we had a rain slicker, but eventually we had to go below because we were so cold. Finally, Ron sailed us out of the storm, we stopped again and I could have snorkeled, but I was pretty much done for the day! Carol brought out the Oreos for a little snack. We were done and back in the harbor around 3:00 pm - we weren't rushed though because we were staying in St. Thomas, but it would be plenty of time for you to get back to the ship. Please let me know if you have any other questions - and tell Ron & Carol that Jerel & Andrea said hi!! debs4ou Posted June 13, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 13, 2004 Thanks Andrea My husband and I just got back. I didn't get your post until now. Wow....you did a great job with filling us in. I am kinda glad that we didn't get to read it before hand because it was fun just winging it.... We had a ball too. WE had the same lunch and everything. What an incredible day we had. WE saw sea turtles, sting rays and lots of great fish. It just sprinkled a bit for us so we didn't get the down pour. I told Ron and Carol we would post a review for them.....they were wonderful. I am glad we did this tour. thanks again for your input. thecleave Posted June 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2004 Hi Deb! Well, since the board was down for awhile I wasn't sure if you got to see it or not. So glad to hear you had a great time! Ron & Carol are so great. My mother-in-law wants some perfume from St. Thomas, so I guess we need to go back soon and we sail again too! vickisteve Posted June 28, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2004 We sailed with Ron and Carol last November. We had a great day. Carol handles the snorkling sites and Ron cooks lunch. It was a great day and we would sail again with them in a second. Lots of room to spread out and work on your tan. St John is just so nice.
