Would like any input about cruise that begins Manaus in March '14. Weather, ports, excursions etc. We have cruised on Seabourn 3 times but only in Europe. This cruise looks very interesting. Thanks for any help.

We are in Manaus right now and have been on Amazon itineraries three times before. (Once with SS--that other cruiseline) It is a fantastic itinerary. BTW, Sojourn had an over the top dinner in the jungle last night. Awesome! The tours to the Ariau Tower resort were interesting. However, the buildings were all constructed in the '80's and have, apparently, not been painted or maintained in any way since then--a total wreck, imho. Wouldn't want to book a room there and be very unpleasantly surprised. (We were shown 2 different "suites".) Additionally, I would opt for the 4 hour tour rather than the 7 hour which includes lunch. Reports today are that the Manaus city tour (we didn't do it this time) was excellent. Looking forward to the next 15 days and hoping that they will somehow be long! Definitely, sign on for the Amazon--you will love it.
