horseshowmom Posted June 29, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2004 We just returned from the June 20th sailing of the Fortuna. The ship is big and crowded !! We previously sailed on the Atlantica, and found that ship is easier to get around. The Fortuna is "chopped up" and difficult to get around. We were always lost. The food is typical. Cabins are identical to the Atlantica. Cruise ports were good. A good experience, but expect lots of crowds and waiting in lines.
chivas1 Posted July 22, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted July 22, 2004 Well, You are exactly right, crowded, very busy ship, not the feeling off a nice relaxed cruise holiday!!! Ship was beautiful, cabins very good and spacious (even for 4 off us), very clean. Ship was hard to navigate in, we got lost more than once!! Itinerary was nice with Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona as the nicest cities, Tunis is special but watch the taxi drivers, they will try and cheat you as much as they can! Napels and Palermo were tipical busy Italian cities! Marseille and Savona were the less interesting ( for us!). Food was ok, but nothing extra special, lines for lunch buffet could take op to half an hour or more, very Italian cuisine, great pasta and pizza. Dinner was ok, no more, no less!! Service is far below Celebrity standard, but most off the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a nice cruise, would i go Costa again??? I am not sure, maybe out off summer season, when the crowds are less???
