Tendered - excursion

We are scheduled to be in port from 9a - 6p ship time.. Carnival Liberty September 2013

What time should we book an excursion? We are wanting to do an Xunantunich Ruins tour - any suggested companies?

We have the priority tender pass so we should be able to get off the boat fairly quick I guess. Not sure how it works I have never been to a tendered port before

See my other post. Book this with the ship. You'll feel safer. It's a nice a/c/ bus ride with bathroom on board and they serve a nice lunch of chicken and rice and beans and icecream at a local hotel in San Ignacio before returning. meant to add: On a ship sponsored excursion, they will ewait for you and hold a tender boat until you return if there are problems.
