Resort for Post Cruise?

Hi there everyone! I will be traveling to San Juan for a cruise in August, and I am looking to extend my vacation after the cruise. I was looking to stay on the beach somewhere, and I was looking at a number of resorts. I have only been to San Juan once before as a stop on a previous cruise. We were only in the port for a few hours in the evening so I didn't really get to see or learn that much about the island.

 

So...here are some questions....

 

Which are the best beach areas on the island?

Which resorts are the best to stay at for a few days?

What things should we do while we are there?

 

I am planning to rent a car to get around for those few days, so we hope to get around a little away from the resort.

Without a doubt LaConch. We did the exact thing you want to do last year. We had so much at LaConcha and renting a car....and the beach is spectacular, we are doing it all over again in September.

We've stayed @ The Caribe Hilton several times and loved it. It has a very resort feel to it.

The Ritz or El San Juan Resort and Casino on the beach in Isla Verde.

You can get some decent prices at The Ritz if you get lucky.
