ebrasl Posted March 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2013 Hi, We tried to reserve for the character breakfast on FOS a few weeks ago for our April sailing and it was all booked up. We have been told to go to CS when we get on baord. Will that actually work? I am dreading telling 3 5 year-olds they can't dine with Shrek. :(

Chances are good you can still make it in.. :)
UCF_Knight Posted March 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2013 We signed up online for 2 character breakfasts on FOS about a month before our cruise when we went in October. I took a printout of my online confirmation with us when we went, but they didn't ask for our name or ask if we even had a reservation. Anybody who showed up at the door at the correct time and asked for the character dining was escorted to the area of the dining room where it was taking place. There weren't a lot of kids on the ship the week we went, so maybe they didn't reach their capacity. Your best bet would be to check with someone when you get on the ship and ask if you will still be able to go without a reservation.
voyager89 Posted March 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2013 I tried to reserve it about 2 weeks ago and it told me the same thing, however yesterday I went online again to sign the activity waivers, I was curious to check if it would let me now and it did. I reserved all shows online and I really didn't want to go run as soon as I got in the ship to make the reservations, I am glad I was able to do so now so by the time I embark I will have no worries but to enjoy the ship and fall in line for a roast beef sandwich LOL You should try it again later, most likely you will be able to book it like I was. hazeleyez3 Posted March 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2013 They typically do not allow all of the seats to be booked on the website. Not everyone knows to sign-up for the breakfast online or, for that matter, knows about it at all, so there should still be seats available when you board. I am dreading telling 3 5 year-olds they can't dine with Shrek. :( I went to the character dining and they did not even scan our Seapass. They use a part of the dining room so you should be able to get in. Most of the people did not even show up to our breakfast.
murfturf Posted March 27, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2013 They were very disorganized when I checked in at 7:45. We had pre-registered, and people were already seated. I started to walk in and I was told to wait in line. She asked if I had a reservation, I said yes. She still pointed at the line. But then seeing others seated, and overhearing something else I said "I made them online." to which she directed us to the area of the dining room. On FOS it wasn't that big of an area, and it was full (Spring Break) not sure if they let people in at the door or not, but it appeared that they would once the reservations had seated. They never scanned my card or asked for my name. I think many people reserve more than one day, and then are a no-show. 8 am is a little early, especially toward the end of the cruise! My kids barely made it out of bed for it - and honestly it wasn't that great. My kids said they liked it, but I wasn't that impressed.
