Need some excursion advice

We are going to going to Cozumel and Progresso in June and I need some advice on mostly Cozumel. We are looking at doing one of the snorkel/beach/bar things from a website not affiliated with CCL. Has anyone else done these and what good/bad things can you tell me?

In Cozumel there are several places that have what you are looking for. Mr. Sanchos http://www.mrsanchos.com/ They have more of a party atmosphere ....last time we were there we went to a place right down from Sanchos. A lot cheaper and tons of water toys for the kids to play on, I cant remember the exact name something Paradise... but it seemed more family friendly.

We were in Cozumel on Legend last year. We took advice from Cruise Critic message boards and took a cab to the Money Bar. It is about a 10 minute cab ride and the snorkeling is pretty good. There isnt much of a beach but there are stairs down to the water. It costs $5.00 to rent a locker and as long as you buy food or drink they dont charge you for a table/beach chair. We had a great day and it was cheap! The food is pretty good as well...one of the best mojito's Ive ever had.

We like Paradise Beach. It's pay-as-you-go, not all-inclusive.

None of the beaches with nice sand and waves will have good snorkeling; the sand and waves cloud the water and the fish like to live in the coral and reefs.

 

I agree with the above suggestions - Money Bar for great shore snorkeling, Paradise Beach is a great pay-as-you-go option if you will just be there for an hour or two.

 

For all-inclusive beach clubs look at Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocom. Good luck! :)

Sorry for posting in the wrong thread. After some deliberation we decided to book a driver and a van through Tours Plaza for the day. The price is great and we will get to see alot of the island.

arkansasboy, you will love it! Lots to see and do, especially on the east (wild) side of the island. It's the best way of designing your own tour. Be sure to take lots of pictures, and have fun!
