Cabana rental in Isla Roatan Question

Want to book one of the cabanas thru carnival excursions It will be just my husband and myself when I go to book it, it says 225.00. Then it asks for our names if I list both of us the price says 450.00. Am I actually booking 2 cabanas if I put down both our names ? It's so confusing to me. Sorry to sound so dumb but I'm just not " getting it" ?? Has anyone rented one for a couple that can enlighten my stupidity ??

When you book it, just book one and put it under one of your names; up to four people can use the cabana. A few nights before your day in Roatan you will be asked for sizes of the snorkel equipment needed and types of soda.

With that said, Roatan is a beautiful Island and I think worth leaving Mahogany Bay area....

If you're going to Roatan check out Little French Key. The wife and I were there in December and had a ball.

Agreed, Roatan is the nicest of the ports we went to on the Western Itinerary! I would not hesitate to go back there on another cruise or even a land vacation. We also used Victor Bodden and his guides provide WONDERFUL tours for a fraction of what you will pay through the boat. [Just to note: I am not opposed to tours through the boat...we did one in Belize in fact...however it is not necessary in Roatan]. Our guide, Kenny, took us on a very informative driving tour of the island and stopped at a local grocery store so we could buy local products at insanely low prices [compared to what things cost in the U.S.] We also spent about 2 hours at West Bay Beach which is a beautiful, NATURAL beach with tons of places to eat close by and security guards to watch your belongings. Best $30 I spent during the whole trip was with Bodden tours.

Mahogany Bay is a very clean area with some decent shops but an hour there before boarding the ship is plenty of time. You will not feel like you experienced at least a somewhat authentic taste of Honduras unless you venture away from the port.

How far of a drive is this private island? It sounds nice but we don't have much time in port.

The drive was about 20-30 minutes each way. We were on the island about 6 hours. The next cruise that takes us to Roatan we will definitely go back.

We didn't think it was too expensive. Now, $225 for a cabana is expensive.

You only need to enter one name for one cabana for up to 4 people. The cabanas are nice, but sit back farther from the water than the ones at Half Moon Cay. The stretch of beach in front of the cabanas is supposed to be reserved for the people who rent the cabanas, but we found that they don't do a very good job of enforcing that.

Hope you enjoy your cabana.

Thank you everyone for the quick answers for me.

We have been to Roatan before and have done some amazing sightseeing around the island, visiting zoos parks and beaches - thought this time we might just " chill " in a cabana but am now going to go check out your other suggestions before hitting the " book it " button.

Again, thank you for all your help/ answers

You will get some great chill time with the Cabana. We had 4 adults and 6 kids and only needed to rent 1 Cabana. The food and service were great. Security did a great job in keeping people away that did not rent a Cabana. We enjoyed our time there and I am sure there are many wonderful spots away from the port but this fit our overall plans for the week as we ventured out in Belize for an exciting excursion. Already booked my Cabana for next year.
