You can buy drinks for others before or after you reach your 15? Please explain; I am very interested in this info. Thank you!

I was able to do both. It appears to vary from ship to ship.

Thank you for the positive feedback :)

Now, to the answer the questions. I apologize in advance if I miss any.

I do like some Indian food, but truthfully it's not my favorite. I will say that my mom makes better hummus :D

I think most of the kids in our group liked Camp Carnival when they were younger, they just like to do their own thing now. I'm sure your 4 yr old will enjoy it. The youngest child we had in our group was 10 yrs old.

I was allowed to get a drink for those who had already reached their limit. I was also allowed to get a drink for Piano Bar Bob. They do count toward your 15 limit.

Parking was $120 at the Port. We had looked in to doing a Park and Cruise but decided we did not want the hassle.

Debarkation was very fast. We walked right off, found a porter who took us through a much quicker customs line than if we took our own bags and we were in our car before we knew it. I'd say total time from leaving cabin to getting in our car was 20 minutes.

Great Review!

We will be boarding in 29 days and all I can do is get on CC every chance I get not to explode with excitement hahaha :p

On disembarking what time were you off the ship? We will do self assist to help get us to the airport quicker but did you notice any delays with customs?

They started calling self assist at 7a.m. We did not have any problems with customs. We were Zone 2 and got off about 8a.m. but could have left sooner.

Thanks for the review! We're on the 4/20 sailing (group of 11) We've also booked Bernard's, who was your guide?

Re: Cheers program - what do you mean they let you get drinks for others? You mean up until you reach your 15, you can openly give one to someone else? I've heard the opposite (you can purchase beyond the 15, but sharing is not allowed) My husband and I are purchasing it, but I'm SO confused at all of the mixed feedback.

My husband was in the casino at 3a.m. and had reached his 15 limit ( it rolls over at 6a.m.) but was obviously sober and in control, so the cocktail waitress asked her supervisor if he could purchase a drink. The answer was "No". But they allowed one of the other guys we were with to get him one as he had not reached his limit. Same thing happened in the piano bar one night.

Our guide was named Justin.

My favorite part of the review was the CHOG who showed up at 10:30am and not having his seat saved all day for him to just to show up when he was ready!

Great Karma there and I hope Carnival keeps the 40 min rule in place until I sail this October with my beautiful wife.

My experience on the Dream was that once you reach your 15 limit you are completely cut off from purchasing any more alcohol either for yourself or for any one else. But, if you are still under the 15 limit, you could buy someone else a drink.

Awesome review. Myself, hubby & 12yo son were on the March 23 sailing also. This was our 5th carnival cruise, please don't hate, but definitely not our favorite. We parked at park n cruise ($45) at 10:35, was on board at 11:00, and in our room at 11:10.

Embarkation was a breeze. We always set up a cash sail & sign account and I was thrilled to have it done before boarding. (We've always had to stand in line at the purser's desk once on board!)

We normally don't eat in the dining room, but had to most nights, we ordered room service a couple of nights also. We had a great wait staff in the MDR, and the food was OK. A couple nights the food came cold, but they were quick to replace it. We ordered prime rib and received the plates with just potatoes and veggies, but no meat. Again our waiter was quick to solve the problem. We never could figure out the buffet times. Seems like every time we went they were all closed. We did stand in line for an hour for the Mongolian Wok and it was delicious!

My hubby nicknamed the ship "the stand in line for an hour and wait for everything ship." I'm not sure why this was? The flow just seemed off compared to the other cruises we have been on.

The ports were great. We had never been to St. Thomas or St. Maarten, so we were excited to be there.

I agree the lido bar staff seemed to be a little sparse. We did find a waiter on the 3rd day and tipped him nicely and he did a good job making sure our "bucket" was never empty! Thanks Aris!

Our room was not cleaned 2 of the mornings on board. I could have called our room steward, but they came each evening so not a problem.

We did have a good time and it is a beautiful ship! We look forward to our next carnival cruise in April 2014!

MikyMous - I wasn't aware that you could set up your sail & sign account with cash ahead of time? Is this something you can do online now? That's a huge help if so!

It is set up at check in and ready to use immediately. I really like that, I always get stuck standing in line at the purser's desk while the family goes up to the lido deck!

Thanks for the great review. DW and I will be on her on July 6th, can't wait. We are also considering the Cheers program and I can probably find the answers to this, but, they say 15 drinks. If you order a martini, then that would count as one drink. What if you order a double gin/tonic, is that considered two drinks? Are bottles of wine allowed at dinner on this program?

Thanks in advance and more thanks for the review.:)

I was wondering too why is it better to pay cash and not use your credit card?

I think most like to use cash instead of a credit card because the holds that are placed on the card. I'm still trying to learn all this myself so I'll be prepared new to month :D

Not sure why some choose to use cash vs credit, we have no credit cards so our only option is a cash account:).

I know the feeling!! That's great that they do that now! Makes way more sense and so much easier! Thank you for letting me know that!

Thanks for writing...we're sailing her in September so I'm trying to read as many reviews of her as I can.

I did not care for the Tandoor Grill, the lines were always non-existent so I don't think many people did.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't care for the Tandoor's offerings. This surprises me, as I have never read a negative comment regarding the Tandoor until now. I have read many times before that there is almost never a line at the Tandoor, but have never sensed that it's because of the food. I'm not doubting your opinions, but I'm wondering if maybe you just may not have a taste for Indian food...and if so, that's fine...not everyone likes Indian food. I, for one, am very much looking forward to the Tandoor on our upcoming cruise.

Thank you so much for the great review!! We sail on her on 4/20 and were wondering what excursions to take. You have given me new courage to use a local vendor instead of the Carnival excursions. ;)
