RLM77 Posted April 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2013 We are considering a future cruise on Norwegian Epic. In looking at the deck plans, I can't tell how someone using a scooter or wheelchair would access La Cucina, the specialty Italian restaurant. The restaurant is located at the very front of Deck 14; the only access marked on the deck plan is a stairway from the Garden Café on Deck 15, above. Passenger cabins are immediately aft of the restaurant on 14. Does anyone who has been on the ship know if you can access the restaurant from Deck 14? Or is this one of the spots on the ship that is not accessible? Thanks for any help past Epic cruisers can provide.

I'm guessing that there should be a service elevator (kitchen) that staff can escort you down. If you don't get an answer here ask when you board at reception. wvfrogg Posted April 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2013 You can also access it from Deck 14 -- but you have to down the hall past the staterooms. The halls are narrow, but doable. Probably the easiest would be to take the aft elevator to the 14 deck and then go to the restaurant. The crew can help you.
time2cruise1 Posted April 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2013 There is HC access from deck 14. As posted take the aft elevators.
Single Cruiser Posted April 7, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Why aft elevators? It's situated forward.. And yes on I believe the port side corridor on the plans shows HC access
ColinIllinois Posted April 7, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Access is in the STARBOARD side.
bluesea777 Posted April 7, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2013 Hee hee, take the forward elevators, not aft. Mny ships have Garden Cafe aft, but the Epic has it forward. My suggestion is to book dinner that is 1/2 hour before sunset when ship is sailing westwards. ;)
sdmike Posted April 7, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2013 There's access from the starboard hallway on 14 for HC passengers. Yes, you would take the forward elevator

youngestof9 Posted April 7, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 7, 2013 My MIL has some mobility issues so the stairs are tough for her. They walked her into an elevator right in the front of LaCucina. No problems at all. And ask for a seat all the way in the front. Views are fantastic.
