Car Rental in Skagway ? & Help

Hi

 

Can you tell me which Avis office to call? Or way they are located? I have tried 2. First one I called a lady stated she only is doing it during the winter months, then hung up on me :( Second one I called phone did not work.

 

Wondering if anyone can give me # or location. We are going to be on RCCL coming into town on June 10, 2013.

 

I would really like to get a car booked ahead of time.

We already reserved our car for July - on the confirmation email it shows the phone # as 907-983-2247 and they are located at 370 6th Ave at Sergeant Preston's Lodge. Good Luck!

Okay I just reserved online as well. It location it allowed me to pick from was at 3rd Avenue & Sprint Street NA Skagway. It does have the same phone you listed. So we went with it.

That is the one...we used it last summer and it works out great. Get off ship and walk into town, take your first right after the tracks and than a left. It is in a motel room, kinda wierd but easy to find. Get there around 7:30 and get in line cause there will be a line. I got in line and my sister went and got us coffee while we waited. ;) Have a blast and ENJOY THE DRIVE!!!!!

Just wanted to pass along what I just found out... glad I made the extra effort now to check all this out or I would have been very upset upon arrival.

 

I went online to verify my information that I passed along on a different thread. When I searched for Avis in Skagway it came up with a different address that I posted in my answer above your last response. However it had the same number.

 

So I called the 800# for Avis and verified which address is correct. The customer rep said the correct address is the 3rd Ave & Spring St. address. She sent me a new confirmation email with this information.

 

Now, I'm really confused. So I called the number and spoke with an older lady that is actually located at the Sageant Preston's Lodge. After talking for several minutes this is the deal:

 

Avis does not operate a fres standing rental business in Skagway during the winter months because there is not enough need for it. They have their phone forwarded to the Lodge and they lodge does rentals for them as needed during the winter.

 

As of 4/30/13 the Avis office located at the other address, 3rd Ave & Spring will reopen for the tourist season. The phone will be switched back to that location. This is the location where you will actually go to pick up the car... NOT the Sargeant Preston's Lodge... her words were: You would be sadly disappointed if you come here in June to pick up your car!

 

That's exactly what I didn't want to happen... wasting precious time in port trying to find my rental car.

Thank you and glad you got the scoop. When I tried to call she hung up on me, not saying she did on purpose but whatever.
