Tipping snorkeling tour quides.

OK I'll try again. For some reason my question was yanked I'll be more general this time.

 

What is customary to tip snorkeling guides?

Do you tip each crew member?

What is customary to tip the tour guide's van driver?

There were two crew members on our snorkle tour, and we tipped $60 (there were six of us).

 

I think we tipped $40 for our tour guide (we did the Hell, Turtle tour).

Wow twinkletoes, that sounds like a really good tip. I read somewhere on one of these threads that you are suppose to tip 5% of the cost of the excursion. Hope this helps some.

Whoops...I meant to mention we were there on New Year's Day and tipped what we thought was a bit extra. We were just happy that some of the tour operators were working that day. There were only two ships in port and many of the stores weren't open.

 

I think $5 per person sounds fine.
