Hi Paulista. My experience has been that when booking on board QM2, I was required to select a specific cabin. When booking through my travel agent here in the US, I most often select a GTY Cat (no cost benefit, just on the off-chance of an upgrade). Perhaps the situation varies, depending on where and when the booking is made? Regards, -S.
