staylor Posted April 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2004 www.snuba.com Looks like you can email them for a price. I think it was around $60 when we did it. It was awesome. The water was warm and clear and there were alot of fish. We sat on picnic tables on the beach and listened to instructions and signed liability papers.....then you go out in water waist high to chest high and practice a little while. You have a chance to get used to the regulators. I was a little nervous, but it was simple. We had one guide for 4 people. He taught us hand signals so we could communicate underwater. The hardest part was when they put the weight belt around your waist (to help keep you down), then we had to swim about a hundred yards out. It was simple for my husband, but I had to take a few breaks. There was a hose connecting your regulator to the tanks (on a raft) that was about 25 feet long. It was awesome! It made us want to get certified in scuba because it is SO much better than snorkeling. Be sure to take an underwater camera...we have photos we will treasure forever! Our guide took pictures of us "kissing" our regulators together. Yes, we are dorks! But it is a cute picture! If you have sinus trouble and can't make your ears "pop", you may not be able to do it. There was a girl in our group that couldn't hold her nose and make her ears "pop" and they didn't let her go. You have to be able to "equalize"..I think that was the word, underwater. I hope you get the chance to go, you will enjoy it! Snuba is #2 on My Best Excursions Ever list.....second only to a 45 minute dolphin swim. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
