Hotels near the Port will be very hard to get and will be very expensive due to the Boat show, rates go up starting Oct 26th and the Boat show ends on Oct 30th.

I was lucky enough to secure a room at the Comfort Suites Airport for the 29th through http://www.hotelkingdom.com a few weeks ago for $68.

While still searching to find another nice little inexpensive "Ma and Pop" motel like the one we stayed in before it was recently sold, we are fortunate to have relatives in Ft. Lauderdale to stay with overnight. If things get too hairy, we are only 2 1/2 hours from Lauderdale and can drive down in the morning.

However, I think the cruisers will appreciate your "heads up". Our cruise leaves Oct. 23, so our group may miss all the congestion. Lynne
