ehfl Posted April 30, 2013 #26 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Pill splitters work well. You can get them at most pharmacies. Check with your insurance company, as they may even send you one for free (mine did). They're much easier to use, and safer than trying to use a knife. More accurate too. Melozone Posted April 30, 2013 #27 Share Posted April 30, 2013 My husband has these really small pills he cuts in half and the pill splitter doesn't work very well. He uses a pair of small wire cutters and they come out perfect. Use the ones for making jewelry.
OnlyMe Posted April 30, 2013 Author #28 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Thank you all very much for your responses! I will definately get a pill splitter and take that instead. Dayenu - thats the way our consultant told us to do it - what we do is cut one pill in half and then give half and save the remainder tightly wrapped in tinfoil and use the second half the following evening so if there is a tiny bit off it all balances out .... and we are quite good at splitting them now so they are pretty accurate anyways:) ... Once our consultant is happy for us to do it like this I'm fine with it:) Saving the half over for the next day works fine in the tinfoil but would not work over a 2 week period and they would most likely crumble also so a pill cutter it is then :)
