wishingtocruise Posted June 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Could someone tell me what the difference is between these two ships? Thanks for any help you can give.:)
crusdiva Posted June 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Basically the same ship...the Caribbean has an extra passenger deck (Riviera) which adds about 500 passengers. There is also MUTS - which means the Caribbean doesn't have a covered pool.
hurwitz5 Posted June 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2005 We have sailed on both ships. Although the design is very similar, the Caribbean Princess has an additional deck of cabins - which adds 500 people to the ship. However, the additional passengers did not negatively impact our cruise experience. In fact, we prefer sailing on the Caribbean Princess because it was two things that the Star Princess does not have: (1) MUTS - Movies Under the Stars, and (2) the Caribe Cafe. The Caribe Cafe's food choices added to our enjoyment of the cruise - from the cold seafood buffet on night 1 to the Octoberfest, Creole, Asian choices on other nights. Toto2Kansas Posted June 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2005 We have also sailed on both. The main difference we noticed was the addition of the Cafe Caribe on the CB. Definitely the high point of the ship, we thought. The only time we actually noticed the extra 500 passengers was waiting to reboard the ship or to tender ashore, then we felt it was very noticable that there were more passengers on the CB. Also the seats were very limited for the best shows being preformed. It really wasn't a big problem with the extra time to get ashore or back onboard, just a bit more wait time. If we had a choice, I think the Caribbean Princess was the better of the two ships.
