Postcards

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to pass on a quick thought. Guess I'm from the old school and thought sending postcards was the thing to do. Boy was I surprised at the postage (in Grand Cayman/Mexico). It cost $1.04 to send a postcard, not a fortune, but more of a surprise. The bigger surprise was the postcards did not reach the US for a month!!!. Next time I'm buying the cards from the islands, but mailing them from Miami before I head home. I still think everyone in Mexico read the postcard before they sent it to the US:D

A few years ago, while my parents were in Mexico, my mother inquired as to how long it would take for the mail to reach the United States...the postal worker there said they were unsure, but they did tell her that the mail was carried by burrow! Needless to say, my parents were home for quite a while before their mail arrived...but it was still really neat to have the postmarks!
