Wrigleesmom Posted June 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2005 My soon to be husband and I are taking our honeymoon on the 8/3 sailing of the Wind. (YIPPEE!!) :) I see that there is a casino on the floor plan of the boat on NCL's website, yet I have read on the board that they do not have a casino. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks. Chicky331 Posted June 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2005 We are going on our Honeymoon (belated) on the Aug. 3rd sailing too! We are super excited. The deal with the casino is that gambling is not allowed in Hawaiian waters per Hawaiian law. The ship has a casino as it used to sail in the Carribean and will be in Alaska next year, but the casino is not operational on Hawaiian cruises. I hope the next 43 days go quickly for you. Wrigleesmom Posted June 21, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks Chicky! I hope the time goes by quickly, too! We are flying out to Hawaii on 8/1. We are both saying we can't wait for the wedding to be over just so we can relax on the honeymoon.
Ricardo Posted June 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Is the Casino's space on the Wind simply closed off while in Hawaiian waters, or is that area put to some other use when not functioning as a casino?
chipnchair Posted June 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2005 the monte carlo casino area is used for a number of things including: the art auction, some of the fitness classes, on board portraits, and even the immigration process post-fanning take place there. the atm is also functional just in case you need some extra cash. congratulations and enjoy the cruise! SueSea Posted June 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2005 On my sailing, the only thing open in the casino was the walkways. They displayed art for the auctions there, but to my knowledge, that was the only use of any casino space. They had floor to ceiling fabric hung just off the walk ways blocking the view of the casino tables and slots.
