brn2crz Posted April 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Well, you guys who have been at this awhile, may already know this.I have been doing some sort of Low Carb, for years, and have not seen it before.Yesterday,at my local SS,they now have a large line of atkins products. They have pancake mix, muffin mix, baking mix,all the bars, cookies etc, they even have frozen dinners.I have seen some Atkins products in Wal-mart,but nothing to this extent.Sad thing is...Very expensive.Almost everything is $4.88 even the muffin mix that might make 9 muffins. On a more postive note,I tried the Michael Angelo,Carb Balance frozen entrees.Very good.I had the Italian Sausage and EggPlant today, very good,$2.50. WeirdEyes Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Thanks for the heads up on the Michael Angelo frozen entrees. I might try some for lunch. The Atkins stuff is very expensive. I refuse to pay $5 for 8 muffins. AuntieBon Posted April 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Better to eat the natural stuff anyway and save the money for cruising I've been low carbing for 18 months and in the beginning bought into the special foods and realized they just weren't worth the extra money. I will however look for those frozen dinners as they might be good for lunch when you don't have time to make one-like on Monday morning when I've dragged myself out of bed. brn2crz Posted April 28, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 28, 2004 I agree. I had used some Aunt Jemimah Whole wheat pancake mix for a while, but I can never find it anymore. My biggest Issue is as a family of only 3,with one being a 4 yo..I end up having to make almost 2 different meals. Not that I load my family with Carbs, but my Dh is thin as rail, and eats what he wants, and like to keep the little one with lots of fruits, veggies and Dairy. Its nice to have something convinient to fix for yourself.. <marquee> seriously,ya'll stop RCI-Rhapsody- 2003 RCI-Rhapsody- 2004 until the return to the Rhapsody of the Seas
