ldarcy Posted June 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2013 Norwegian has two cave tubing options... one says "cave tubing" and the other says "Crystal Cave Tubing". Does anyone know what the difference is and which one might be better? Thanks in advance!!
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2013 All go to the same place. There are treks that start further up the river and flow through a couple of more cave and maybe have a later take out point. Time of the excursions and other amenities, like lunch included, might give a clue to the differences.
hartskys Posted June 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2013 Cave tubing with CaveTubing.BZ - Highly recommend them - we went last Feb and will be going again with them in December. Amazing excursion :)
Disfan5 Posted September 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Just checking to see if anyone has any insights to either of these tours. I'll be booking through NCL and just wondering which would be better. Thanks.
stewartluzon Posted September 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2015 cavetubing only is family oriented and easy to do, floating through the caves, led by a guide, while seeing the crystal cave involves some floating, but much of it is also walking inside the caves, the views are awesome, the walking is on uneven wet rocky paths and requires good footing and lighting, the sensitivity of protecting the crystals, by not touching and maintaining foot balance is why i recommend adults only for this trip. greenyogurt2000 Posted May 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2016 I did a little research as I'm struggling with this too. The regular cave tubing is offered through cavetubing.bz and goes through Caves Branch. The crystal cave tubing is offered through Chukka Caribbean Adventures and goes through Actun Tunichil Muknal and is considered a sacred cave. Hope that's helpful! Shawninrye Posted May 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2016 Ok there is some confusion here. There are only two places to tub through the caves in Belize. 1)Blue Hole National Park. It does not go through ATM. This cave you can walk or tube. And is in a different location than the majority of tours. 2) caves Branch River. There are 5 caves but there is only time to go through 3 on the ship. All tours take you to the same place. They may get in the river at different locations. There must be 20 tour guides taking you to the same location. Hope this clears it up. It helps to google earth it.
stewartluzon Posted May 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2016 the options are numerous as caves branch river runs thru the 6 caves system and can be explored using tubes or kayaks, and there are other river branches that feed into the river and one such branches comes from the Crystal Cave that is explored by tubing and walking in the caves. we explored these caves with vivtours.com Stu
