Rare dickinson Posted June 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I'll be on the Caribbean Princess this fall to Canada. Do they stay on Eastern time or do they adjust the clocks when we get to Canada? I'm trying to figure out what time to rent a car and don't know if the ship's time of being in Halifax of 9-6 is Eastern or Atlantic time. Thanks. cruiseryyc Posted June 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Halifax is on Atlantic Time. The ship will change its clock to whatever timezone the port is in. http://www.timeanddate.com
Gunner22aa Posted June 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Has always been local time on any cruise we have been on. Same for ships day when we crossed the International Date Line in the Pacific. We have always either gotten a little card in the room notifying us of which way the clock was going or seen it in the daily ships schedule of events. The clocks on the ship are set from the bridge sometime in the middle of the night when the time has changed. I have always woken up to the time of the day. Rare dickinson Posted June 5, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Thank you. I know I have taken cruises before that did not change the clocks. they alerted us to the fact to be careful however that was years ago on Carnival. I don't know what they do now and if it is ship specific.
