Great Time On NCLA's POA 6/12 - 6/19

We were originally on the Pride of America for this trip but switched to the Aloha after the former sank. We went from a Family Suite (2 bedrooms) on the America to two adjoining balcony rooms. While somewhat small, as described here by everyone else, we were happy with the efficient design of the rooms and the bathrooms (remember to use the ample space underneath the beds for storing luggage). The food was fine, especially breakfast, including waffles from the singing waffle-man. The staff on the ship was very accommodating and extremely friendly. Had no problems with crowds (we arrived early for most everything and always got great seats/tables/service). We were amazed, but pleased, that many parts of the ship were under-utilized by our shipmates. We were impressed by the Captain's openness during the ship's loss of power off of Kauai (try getting a jet captain to provide accurate info). Had a super cabin steward - Jennifer - who we rewarded well but we still had some confusion over the appropriateness of our tipping for all of the other service crew. Stayed on Oahu (Waikiki) the week before the sailing, so jet lag was no problem by sailing time.

All in all a great experience and THANKS to all on this board who helped us prepare for the trip.

Would be happy to answer any questions!

Aloha!

Vacationman, glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise. We were on the May 22nd sailing & had a great time also. We did not experience any of the negative stuff posted by some. The staff was very friendly & upbeat. Our room and the ship's common areas were always spotless. The food at the restaurants was great! We would go again in a minute.:)
