Hardrock Cafe St Thomas

After a period of between 5 and 10 years, I finally returned to St Thomas this year in May and was shocked to find that the HARDROCK CAFE in St Thomas was gone and had been replaced by a gym of all things! Does anyone know why the HARDROCK left ST Thomas, when and why?

 

I missed my favorite spot for a cold beer and a good burger on a hot afternoon

I was shocked also. We were there last July and had looked forward to going back this year, but saw that it had closed. No info. why though. I guess swe will both have to find a new favorite place. :-) Happy Summer!

Nope, no info. why. There was rumor they were moving to another location but that hasn't happened (as yet) and again was more of a rumor around the island.

 

There was always a Gold's Gym in that building.

The rent for the space went sky high when they went to renew. The company decided to find an area closer to the cruise ship docks, with better parking for nighttime visitors and at a lower price. I have to admire their courage at taking this stand. I haven't heard which location they will be taking, however I'm sure it will be fabulous as usual!

We were there last year but failed to obtain our hurricane glass from there. See, we collect these from every major destination if there is a HR there.

 

I have emailed CS and if I can remember I will post a reply when and if I get it.

My understanding is that it was already underperforming and perhaps everything else just sealed its fate.
