lovinsea Posted June 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2005 Hi, hope you can help me decide if I should change our room and which one to change to. We are currently booked in room R415, I knew when booking we would be below the Lido deck but it seems after really studing the diagram that Scoops is close by and would probably get a lot of traffiic, should we move further down, say under the chairs or across the deck just past the restrooms? Also, which pool is the swim against the current, I suppose there is noise from the motors, that may be heard in your room. Hoping they still have room available,we don't sail until May 2006. Any info will be greatly appreciated, we are first time Princess cruisers.
Corinne Marie Posted June 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2005 We are also booked in a PH suite on the CP for the August 6th sailing. It is R409. I am really looking forward to staying in a penthouse suite (1st time for me). I hear that they are just wonderful. I would not worry about noise too much. From what others have said it is very minor. I think that the location will just be so nice itself because you are near to the Horizon Court and pool decks. Have a great cruise in you PH. Toto2Kansas Posted June 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Scoops is only open limited hours and to tell you the truth, I have never seen it busy on any ship we have sailed on. I doubt it would give you any noise problem at all, especially in the morning and evening times when it isn't even open.
MaryPoppinz Posted June 25, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2005 I have never walked nearby and seen anyone buying something at Scoops on any ship, either.....
lovinsea Posted June 25, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Sure appreciate your imput. I did talk to my TA this morning and he did switch me to R409. Corinne Maire I believe that is the same room you have for your August sailing. We are going April 06. Please, please, post a review when you get back. It's our first time on Princess, we are diamond members of RCCL. We are also excited about a suite. Thanks again everyone for answering me, and Corinne, have a great cruise. monk888 Posted June 26, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2005 We were in R405 on the June 26 sailing of the Caribbean Princess last year. We loved it. The convenience of being just one flight down from the pools, the Horizon Court and Cafe Caribe is just awesome. The size of the PH suites are great too! Here is a link to some photos I took of the suite and around the ship, just to wet your appetite: http://community.webshots.com/album/163544676IXfbis The Monk
srqcruiser Posted June 26, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2005 I was in R415 during Thanksgiving. It was very loud due to all the children on the ship. I think you will be o.k. if you are on the CP when kids are in school. I wrote a letter to Princess telling them they should have placed the suites in a better location like on the other Grand Class ships. I also mentioned that I hope they place the suites on the Crown in a better location. If you pay the price you shouldn't have to put up with noise till 2 am. They gave me a 1500 dollar credit for a future cruise. So, now I am booked on the Grand in a GS suite!!
myangel Posted June 26, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 26, 2005 Are the Vista suites basically the same as PH and PS on the CB?
