Christmas/New Year Dining

Is it possible to prebook dining room space, say on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve in the MDR. If so how long before sailing is this possible. I know it is 45 days out for the speciality restaurants, but I can find nothing on the MDR. As we are a group of nine, if we do not book early are we going to have difficulties.

You can't really make reservations for the MDRs unless you have a large group (10 or more) or the concierge can do it for you if you are in a suite - both of which would be done while on board.

On our last NCL cruise, if you were in a suite or platinum latitudes the concierge would organise it for you otherwise the MDR does not normally take bookings. USA get a pre concierge service and UK don't but they are launching it soon and it could be in place before you sail.

 

If you go for the specialty I recommend you book when they open them 45 days out from sailing as they got full very quickly, especially new years eve before the parties start.

They certainly do a special menu for Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

 

Last Christmas on the Jade we did the MDR - longish wait but plenty of bubbly and nibbles while we waited.

 

On New Years Eve we went to the Sushi Bar (we had done the Jazz Brunch so we were fairly full). We had the place to ourselves and had a great time - they did us a special celebration roll for free - absolutely lovely! We wanted to leave room for the midnight bubbly as well!:D

Yes, they will provide special Holiday menus to accompany the special seasonal decorations. They also do so for Thanksgiving and Easter as well.

 

Freestyle Dining applies year 'round in the MDRs. Why would you want it any other way?
