tammi0916 Posted June 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Good morning! I am traveling next month out of Boston on the Dawn and wanted to know if you have to go to any special line to go into the terminal when you are booked in a suite or is only once you get inside the terminal that you go to the suite area? At other ports (and other lines) they have an entrance for priority? Just trying to get all my info before we board... Thanks! Tammi
GORDONCHICK Posted June 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Since your question is specific to Boston, it would have been helpful for that to be in the title. I've not sailed out of Boston, I can't answer your question.

mpk218 Posted June 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2013 You will look for your priority "VIP" line after going through security entering the terminal. ;)
rvsullivan Posted June 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Just to clarify, in Boston everyone goes through the same security line. After you get through security, you will be directed (if not, ask) to suite check in. There is no bypassing security with everyone else.
GORDONCHICK Posted June 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2013 I must have read the OP's question wrong - I thought she was asking where the suite/VIP line was instead of asking if there was one.
Nalagh Posted June 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2013 You will have security then the VIP line just as you would in Miami. In NYC you have a line before security that will take you to the front of the security line. This line then cuts in front of non-suite and silver and below latitudes members. Hope this helps,
cooncat_mom Posted June 24, 2013 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Unless it's changed (I won't know till October), you drop your bags ouside in luggage carts and then enter the port and go though security with everyone else. Then just after security and before the big line, there should be a sign directing you to your right (there should be a customer service person directing as well) to the VIP area. When we were there, we missed it. This time, we won't! Enjoy sailing from Boston...there are some nice areas, and the pier is on the landing path for Logan. We enjoyed watching the planes come in. I remember seeing the lines split after we went thru long security line. Now I will look for it, thanks to you. :). Thanks so much.

MAMATAMA Posted June 24, 2013 #15 Share Posted June 24, 2013 The VIP check in is to the right when you get in and hen they have a closed off area with sandwiches and coffees and teas for you to wait for your rooms... The Butler will come and get you... You will be greeted there and escorted to your cabins....

Do you get to the suite cabins before people in the non-suite cabins? Do you have to wait for the butler, or can you board on your own--I don't want to sit around waiting for a butler if we can get on board and explore and eat! You won't be waiting long...and the Butler usually escorts you to Cagney's for lunch. With the exception of the Garden Villa, I've never gotten to go to my suite before other passengers. My next cruise will be my first time in the Haven (outside of the GV) so we'll see if we get escorted to the suite first or Cagney's!!

I have read that you are escorted to your suite and can drop off your carry on bags and then they escort you to Cagneys - I have also been told this by the pre-concierge when I did my selections. We are in an Owners Suite so don't know if that has anything to do with it...but I am hoping I go to the suite first and drop off bags.... Tammi You will only be escorted directly to your suite if the cabins are ready. I know of people who have been escorted to Cagney's and then snuck off to see their cabins... :p

Kaboochi Posted June 25, 2013 #22 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Since your question is specific to Boston, it would have been helpful for that to be in the title. I've not sailed out of Boston, I can't answer your question. That 1st sentence was totally unnecessary. The op was asking a question, just that simple. Since you did not have anything helpful to share you should have just moved on. CC is here to help others, not chastise them. Just my opinion OP I am curious about embarkment too as I am in A suite out of NY in Sept. It sure would be nice to bypass all of the lines. enjoy your cruise. df5250 Posted June 25, 2013 #23 Share Posted June 25, 2013 In 4 cruises I have always been escorted to my suite when sailing from Boston, where we dropped off the carry ons and then went to Cagneys for lunch. Many times the suite was not quite ready. I have never seen a suites line to drop off the luggage or go through security. The luggage line in Boston is usually long, but moves quickly. In New York, there was a special security line and I was escorted to Cagney's. I think the concierge area/Star Bar was holding carry on's for some. Also, in New York the concierge was taking/making reservations (restaurant, spa, etc) in the VIP lounge, but this is not something I've seen offered in Boston. Chesneygirl Posted June 25, 2013 #24 Share Posted June 25, 2013 We sailed from Boston last summer in an SC suite. Our butler escorted a small group of us onto the ship. She gave us the option of going to our suite first to drop off our carry on's and then took us to Cagney's for lunch. We loved sailing out of Boston...it was by far the best experience we've ever had in all of our cruises. Enjoy your cruise!
jdvmd Posted June 25, 2013 #25 Share Posted June 25, 2013 The VIP/Suite Check In occurs after security. Prior to that, we faced a HUGE line prior to going up the escalators in Boston. This was for those waiting to give their luggage to the porters. We had carry ons and went around the line and up the escalators. Only knew to do this after I asked some official guy, otherwise, we would have just gotten in the line.
