Another question for Scubagirl

We are going to be in Nassau on July 16, DH's 50th birthday, woo hoo!

We are looking at the day-pass hotels in the area. So far I have looked at Riu resort, Hilton, and Sheraton. Can you tell me the pros and cons of those various properties? And are there any others I should check into?

I have done some research on the port for that day, and there will be three ships in, so if they are full, that's 6400 passengers in Nassau, not to mention the tourists staying at Paradise Island and in Nasssau in general. Lots of people!

Thank you for any suggestions you may have. We are a group of two young ladies celebrating their high school graduation, two guys celebrating being 50, and two wives, just wanting to relax.

Appreciate all your posts.

I'm not Scubagrrl but here are my two cents. We've been the RIU twice, Sheraton once, Hilton not yet, if that helps. :)

RIU:

pros - all inclusive, beautiful beach great for a long walk

cons - costs more upfront (will you get your money's worth?), beach not good for swimming, not many activities

Sheraton:

pros - larger property with more pools, calm beach, watersports included

cons - a la carte food pricing

Hilton:

pros - walking distance from port, beautiful quiet and classy hotel

cons - "too near" the ships, harbor view

Three ships are no big deal for Nassau. :)

Thanks for the info CruisinCrow!

Well, the two guys would probably get their money's worth from the free drinks included in the price. Not sure about the rest of us.

The Hilton gives you $40 voucher towards food, but sounds like the Sheraton is a prettier view.

I had even looked at the day passes at the Comfort Suites for the water park at Atlantis, but I'm thinking the lines would be super long there.
