Carnival Excursion Question

I have booked the Island of Adventures Excursion through Carnival. Carnival states a childs rate is 12 and under but the theme park states the child rate is 9 and under. Do i need to pay additional to make the child ticket an adult ticket? I called and sent an email and ended it up with 2 different answers. Not sure if anyone else has had this situation happen to them.
