Palermo, Sicily, Livorno

I will be taking a cruise later this month and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on things to do (outside the normal) or "can't miss" things in Palermo, Sicily, Naples, Livorno. I'd like to get off the beaten path. Thank you!

My favorite attraction in Palermo are the Capuchin Catacombs (google it) which are often not included in typical tours. Trust me that visiting those catacombs is "outside" the norm :)
