Love Boat Dream Posted July 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Just got off the Glory yesterday. We were in an inside cabin on 6 (I think it was 6378) that was right over the kids disco. The first night we were fine but the second night it was so loud and our floor was vibrating from the beat. This went on until about 1 am. We had an early tour so we were trying to get to sleep about 11. We complained to Guest services immediately but they couldn't move us until morning. It is much quieter on 2! Wow, we were in 6380 on the Glory and never heard a sound, however, we had friends in 6388 that heard the disco thump thump thump all night. Unfortunately for them the ship was full and there wasn't a room to move to.
sweetsixteencruisers Posted July 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2013 We had 6370 (Glory) and 6378 (Valor) we heard a little music in the distance. Nothing that disturbed our sleep.
JasonV1 Posted July 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2013 If quiet rooms are a priority book cabins that are: Midway between elevator banks (minimizes foot traffic in front of your door) or in the "corners" of the deck. Have other staterooms above/below them (not a guarantee, but better than booking above/below clubs and so on). Have no "ship areas" next to them (for when your cabin is on the same deck as these areas, such as galleys or something similar). I personally can (and have) slept through fire alarms, but not everyone in the family sleeps so well all the time. Most of the time you are fine just staying away from rooms above/below the clubs as well as those below the lido/pool decks. That covers most of your noisy areas. Just got off the Glory yesterday. Lovefuninthesun Posted July 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I always pack my trusty ear plugs just in case -- they have never let me down! (even in a safari tent in Zambia with someone who snored like a mac truck )
Love Boat Dream Posted July 10, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted July 10, 2013 This was my 37th cruise and I never experienced noise like this. I can sleep through anything but my roommate is a very light sleeper so we moved...
serene56 Posted July 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2013 There are MANY areas on deck 6 that should be avoided. And some areas do not show potential noise.. like any cabin above the casino bar--- a band sets up across from here after 9PM at night and plays to the wee hours--- there are some cabins that will get no noise issues-- a cabin in either direction can make all the difference in the world for the same amopunt of money in the same category you could have moved to the empress deck (aft)

The people just didn't show up for the cruise!
vacruizer Posted July 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2013 I learned my lesson as well after having a cabin over the sports bar on the Valor. We heard every game loud and clear along with cheers from the crowd every time someone scored. We were also near the atrium elevators and could hear the elevators dinging and the music from the atrium. Walking aft on that hall the floors vibrated back near the disco - I felt REALLY bad for those folks. I've made sure I booked deck 7 or higher since then. (also watch out for some spots under the lido pools.)
