dalgirl Posted July 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2013 We have decided to take a ships excursion for Marseille only for the transportation value - our choices are narrowed down to: Avignon and Aix OR Gordes and Roussillon I had decided on Avignon and Aix since all of the reviews say that you are mostly on your own for these tours (we hate the cattle call), but Gordes and Roussillon also sounds interesting. Any pros and cons for either itinerary?
Rare Hlitner Posted July 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Would agree with your choice. Both Aix and Avignon are terrific places to visit and bost cities have some interesting history. Hank
dalgirl Posted July 10, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Thank you Hank - I didn't want to second guess myself, but as this cruise is mostly for my mother and son, I wanted to make sure that they had the best "Provence experience." Hopefully the convenience of getting around the area (along with the low tour cost) will offset the aggravation of a group tour - at least that is what I keep telling myself--- it seems that it will not be a "tour" much to my delight. Logistically DH just doesn't want to bother with a car, and that is fine....
