Cruise or land?

Recommended Posts

We are flying to New York in Sept for a 5 day city holiday then have booked an apartment in Boston NEXT Sept for 2 weeks. These are with our 21 year old daughter. But would like to again cruise on the Dream in June 2014. Am more excited about this cruise which visits Calvi, Sorrento, Sardinia, Cittavechia and a couple other places.

I think we are definitely cruise addicts. Somehow I can't get as excited about these land holidays. Is it a sign of growing old?

New York is a great visit.

We were (still are) big fans of the Sopranos TV show and did the official coach tour of the set locations where it was filmed, including the infamous Bada Bing club, although that's not its real name.

I also managed to fulfill a long time ambition and get to Yankee stadium for a game - it was demolished and their new home built soon after.

A Broadway show is also a must - make sure you don't pencil in the one day of the week (Monday ?) when the cast have their day off. We almost got caught out there.

Even a 5 day break is not enough to do it justice.

Yes quite agree with you. We were in Florida in January and found it boring. Have the cruising bug now.No more where do you fancy going or where do you fancy going for dinners, everything is taken care of on a cruise. Dont have to keep checking for this town called "ANYWHERE" or a restraunt called "ANYPLACE":D:D. For me a cruise wins hands down all the time.

Yes, you are both correct. Cruising just takes out the worry of what to do and where to eat. We were last in New York in 2009 but for a 3 day visit. I expect when the time draws nearer, I'll look forward to it. But in the meantime, I'm continuing to persuse cruise holidays.
