There is a very useful website called. http://Www.walkit.com.

 

It enables you to plan your route by the quickest or shortest or by Main roads only. A bit like a sat nav for walkers. London is a city that needs exploring on foot really. There is lots to be missed if you take public transport everywhere. It was built for people and horses not motorcars and buses.
