Qm2 Self Disembark Ny

When we arrived New York on 22 Apr 05 we were told that self help would start at 0815. So, we got down to the central lobby (upper level) just before 0745 and an announcement said that self help were to disembark "now" from the chart room. So we hurried along there and found about 50 people starting to leave. We were about 30th in the queue for immigration. So to get off speedily be ahead of the announcements.

Our tip is to get to the chart room by 0730 but be prepared to wait as the USA citizens were doing immigration on board and it appeared that many of them were not turning up to do the formalities so delaying disembarkation.

A tip for leaving the ship. Make sure your cases are on wheels as there are no trolleys and no porters. It is a good 100 yards to the immigration desks. It is then probably 300 yards to leaving the terminal and to join the queue for taxis or to meet friends. Apart from leaving the ship everything is on level ground.
