Winkster Posted August 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Has anyone done the Montserrat by Rail tour from Barcelona? I spotted it on a YouTube vid and, having not really fallen in love with the city on a recent weekend trip, the Monserrat tour looks a great alternative to pounding the Ramblas. I'm not into Benedictine Monasteries but the scenery looks amazing and the rack railway seems fun! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app Did this tour last year and highly recommended for something a bit different. You take a coach to the bottom of the mountain and then the rack railway up to the monastery. Actually it is more than a monastery with hotels, restaurants, shops, bank and police station. If the weather is good the views are stunning and you can get another train to the top of the mountain and take in a short walk to various viewpoints. montsarrat.pdf
Winkster Posted August 13, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Sounds great! We could live with a day in Barcelona but this looks a bit more interesting. Thanks! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
