What are some good breakfast recommendations for the French Quarter area ? We tried The Ruby Slipper last year and was very pleased, we are just wanting to try something different this year, there are to many GREAT restaurants in New Orleans to do the same one twice... Thanks for you help !!!

Elizabeth's has a loonnnggg wait, even with reservations. Look at the Trip Advisor reviews, especially by locals.:( In the Quarter, I vote for the Palace Café on Canal between Bourbon & Royal. Gumbo Shop, near Preservation Hall. Or NOLA, one of Emeril's--expensive tho. (By the way, though it's not in the Quarter, you may want to check out the Upperline.)

If you want something really local for breakfast in the Quarter, try the Croissant d'Or, 3-4 blocks straight up from the French Market on Ursuline. They also do a light lunch too (soup, croissant sandwiches). Nice little courtyard with seating too. Coop's on Decatur (& Philips?) is classic (hangtown fry, basically an oyster omelet) but the local clientele can be a little sketchy. They serve all night, maybe closing between 4 and 6 AM.
