Shore Excursions in the South Pacific

In January we're going to be on a cruise in the South Pacific and would love it if travellers who have already done shore excursions in Moorea, Papeete, Bora Bora, Rarotonga, Nuku'alofa, Lautoka or Auckland could give us their thoughts on the best ones to do in each place. Your help with any of these destinations would really be appreciated! Mel

Have you searched through the threads for the last month? A bunch of information and recommendations on tours etc. ;)

 

May I suggest you take a good look at the threads and then ask away on items you didn't get info on. I can see at least 6 threads on page #1 that talk about tours on many of the islands you mention.

May I also suggest you check out forums for PG Cruises as the PG is in the South Pacific full time. I would also checkout Princess & Oceania on the ships they use for the south pacific, should a a bunch of info to glean from. ;)

Another good resource is Trip Advisor. They have a section on things to do At each place with reviews of various operators and places. We loved the snorkeling and motu picnics in FP. We rented a car in Auckland as it was at the end of our cruise and enjoyed going off on our own. We stayed in a cottage on a huge sheep farm which was a wonderful experience for us. .
