mollyanne Posted August 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2013 Could anyone tell me how far of a walk it is to the water taxi from the Embassy Suites on 17th.:) It is several blocks. You would exit the hotel and turn right onto 17th Street and go all the way to the end - by the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel. There is a water taxi stop right there under the bridge. mollyanne Posted August 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2013 Personally, it would be too far for me if it was hot - but my husband actually walked from the Marina to the liquor store next to the Embassy Suites. And it WAS hot! What we won't do for a bottle of wine! :o
Rick03Ultra Posted August 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2013 There is a trolley that runs from Publix next to the Embassy Suites down to the beach and downtown shopping. It runs right by the water taxi and will let you off. I don't remember the price, but it is fairly cheap.
JanaJohn Posted August 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2013 Could anyone tell me how far of a walk it is to the water taxi from the Embassy Suites on 17th.:) Looking at Google Earth it looks like just under 1 mile from the Embassy Suites to the east side of the bridge where the water taxi is located. PBNJ620 Posted August 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 21, 2013 We stayed there many times and walked to the bridge just to see the cruise ships. My husband actually went too and he is in a wheelchair. It was a bit of a walk, but a nice way to spend the day sightseeing!!!
