Oceania Amazon Cruise - Rio to Miami

We were on Regatta March 2013 Rio to Miami. Advise you to go to Rio a few days early. We arranged a full day tour with a guide we found on Trip Advisor.

She took us to many spots where locals go and had lunch a local Brazilian

Restaurant. This is one of the best of our 8 cruises on O. The Amazon is truly

Amazing in March. Enjoy!

Thank you for the replies. Sounds like it is a good choice for an interesting cruise. We have done 3 previous jaunts with Oceania on the R class ships, which we have enjoyed, but were just wondering about this specific cruise. It sounds like the weather should be pretty good also that time of year in the region. I only do well in calmer waters, so this will be an added benefit!!

We are booked on this cruise and I am thinking about cancelling. The Amazon seems like it would be interesting but when I checked many of the Brazilian ports there is not a lot of info. What are the highlights - other than Rio and Devil's Island?

We did the Miami to Miami including Amazon. Rio would mean a long flight and we have seen Rio. I liked the Miami to Miami and will do it again next year in November. I have no interest in seeing Rio again. The city is in a mess because of the future sporting events coming up.
