Where To Stay in Playa

:confused: We want to be on the beach, but don't like the all-inclusive concept. I need suggestions on really lst class hotels. Thanks for the help. Oh, this will be for February, 2006.

Try the Omni in Puerto Aventuras, about 8 miles south of PdC. Not big, deluxe facilities, on the best beach in PA.

There are great small hotels on the beach. The Playa Mia is beautiful and the owners are wonderful. The Pelicano Inn is directly on the beach as well. They are in the main part of town. Easy access to everything. I would be careful however, after this hurricane, to make sure there is a beach left in front of the hotel you choose. The erosion from the last hurricane was still evident earlier this year and I can only imagine that the damage from Emily was much much worse.
