April Jewel Posted September 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Before we left for our 19th August Eastern Med. Cruise we weren't sure if they were doing the extend your stay programme. As our flight wasn't leaving until 5.30pm we were keen to participate as the thought of lugging our cases on the train into Rome - putting it in left luggage storage for a few hours and then heading for the airport was not appealing at all. Thankfully I am happy to report we were able to do this for a cost of $59 each. On the second day each cabin was delivered a disembarkation form and on this was the option to pay for the Extend your Stay. This mean't we were able to stay in our stateroom until 9am, then we were given a lanyard meaning we could stay onboard until 3.30pm if we wanted. Also included were beverages and soft drinks including Cafe Al Baccio and also lunch in Bistro in 5 - which didn't include gratuities. We spent a lovely few hours lounging on the Solstice Deck, having a swim before using the Aquaspa facilities to shower. Then we enjoyed lunch in Bistro on 5 before disembarking at 2pm to catch a taxi to the airport. It worked wonderfully for us and was definitely worth the money as it meant our last day was just an extension of our holiday rather than an arduous way of trying to pass the time. April Jewel Posted September 6, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted September 6, 2013 What did you do with your luggage? Did they provide a room to leave it in? Our luggage had to be left outside our cabin the evening before disembarkation like everyone else who chose not to carry it off. It obviously had Extend Your Stay identification on it and was waiting for us when we got off. They also offered to take any hand luggage we didn't want to keep with us on disembarkation day - this you can give to Customer Services before 9am when you collect your lanyard. You then just have to collect it from them before disembarking. All very straight forward. Tammy
flyingv4me Posted September 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2013 I wish they'd do this for Caribbean salings. Nice option!
