I need some Inspiration before I board the Inspiration...

DH and I are setting sail on Friday and just like with every other cruise, I'm really excited. However, last week, I had a little fender-bender :eek: that's taking it's toll on my spiritual, emotional and financial well-being and I just need a good laugh to remind me that "this too shall pass." So I'm hoping ya'll can just throw in some relatable stories of potential buzzkill moments you've had right before your cruise vacations.

 

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Cheer me up. :o :rolleyes:

1. You were insured.

2. The other party was insured.

3. The car can be repaired.

4. The other car can be repaired.

5. No one was hurt (not counting pride).

6. By this time next month the fender bender will be considered a learning experience.

7. You join the ranks of gazillions who have had fender benders and survived.

8. You weren't drinking when it happened.

9. In a few days you'll be going on a cruise.

10. In another month or so I'll me looking for your review because I'll be about to board the same ship!

2. Debatable about the car in front of me - hairline scratch on black rubber on the corner of the bumper of their FREAKIN' SUBURBAN! God is Great: she said don't worry about it and drove away! :confused:

8. Haven't drank in almost 8 years, so YEP!! Wasn't doing anything actually...looked down for a SPLIT SECOND...and was looking at NOTHING!

My husbands favorite line "just remember if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!!"

 

I had a "fender bender" right before a cruise a few years ago. Backed into a Mercedes in the parking lot, at work:eek::rolleyes:

 

My car was fine, Mercedes not so much. So I traded it in on a brand new SUV!!! Figured the car was jinxed. :o:p

 

 

Happy sailing!!! You will have a great time on the Inspiration!! We did!!

 

Oh and FYI, haven't had any mishaps since!! wheres some wood????? :p:D

I know god got me through it. But I did not want to spoil my DH's vacation time either. I had my thoughts and crying time while he played golf. He shared the burden with me, but I did not bring it up during our vacation. I managed to get through it. We went on our cruise and WDW. So go enjoy your vacation and don't let it get to you. I always saw my situation as someone else may be worse than I was.

I am one of those that believes that good comes from seemingly bad...and vice versa.

 

Life is all about perception. If I stay grateful for everything as best I can, this too will pass.

I had a few "bumps" right before cruising:

 

1. Broke my big toe (ouch!) debated whether to go or not.

 

Put it out there on CC and got lots of similar stories and encouragement.

Went, used a wheelchair for part of the cruise.

Had a fantastic time!!

 

2. My Aunt (she was a mother to me- mine was ill most my life) passed away right after I boarded.

 

Thought about getting off the ship.

My cousins (sisters) said no, go ahead and go.

I did and dedicated my experiences to her memory.

We went to Mexico and she'd lived there for many happy years.

 

I think she approved...
