Time to Southampton station

How quickly can I get to Southampton train station?

 

Our ship docks at 9:30am and Fred has said it usually takes an hour to clear customs. Will I be able to get to the station if we carry or luggage off the ship an take a taxi to the station. Our train leaves at 11:46am and the next is 2 hours later but the fare will be more than double and the next cheapest fare would be 3:46pm.

 

Am I pushing my luck trying to catch the first train or should I book a later one?

As long as the ship docks on time you will be OK,the only problem you may encounter is the maybe long Q for Freds shuttle to the station,otherwise grab a taxi,10 minutes at the most from the quay to the station.:)
