I am reading that there IS a water taxi available?? can anyone confirm this??

Yes, sort of.

There is a water taxi that runs from downtown on the wharf to Paradise Island Ferry dock (under the first bridge). From there, it's a 2 block walk to the Marina Village and the entrance to the Coral Towers.

It doesn't drop you off at Atlantis, just nearby.

It's $4pp and runs every 30 minutes from 9:30am to 6pm. Daily.

Boats can get crowded, as they fill up.

The boats don't run on the hour/half-hour per se, just 30 minutes after the last boat left.

The ride takes about 12 minutes or so, and has a tour guide on board that works on tips.

yes, there is. I took water taxi last time I was there and will NOT take it again. We waited and waited and waited to go...they had to fill EVERY seat and I think the captain/driver was late... finally got moving after about 45 minute wait. He gave a nice tour of spots along the way, then asked for tips. Then you have to walk a very far walk to the casino entrance through the Marina Village.

In the past, have always taken land taxi right to the door ...and will in the future....Just my opinion.

We took the water taxi from Nassau cruise port over to the Atlantis area last year. It was very scary and even though we paid for a round trip ticket after riding over, we decided to not take it back. First of all, we had to be lowered down on to the boat from a ledge with about a 7-8 foot drop, no ladder, you just sat on the edge of the concrete wall and then jumped down with hopefully a taxi employee helping or catching you. I felt sorry for women who had dresses or skirts on because everyone on the boat got a full view. Next the water taxi was a small boat that was very overloaded, probably 15-20 people too many. We were squished in together, some standing, while the boat motor was smoking and obviously straining to carry all of us. The crew was funny but then they asked for tips, almost badgered us for money. I just looked at my husband who was appalled by the whole experience and said if we die on this boat, remember I love you!!!! We took a cab back for $5.00
