debcsus Posted September 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2013 We are cruising to Roatan this December and I'm trying to do some research on the best places to snorkel. My husband and I are comfortable setting up our own non-ship excursion tours, I'm not sure how comfortable my in-laws are with it. It looks like most folks are recommending either West Bay Beach or Maya Key. I'm leaning towards going with Victor Bodden/West Bay, but how is the snorkeling near Pirate's Bay/Las Palmas Beach Club? (This is where the ship wants to bring us).
texancruzer Posted September 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2013 While there are reefs rimming the entire island..... West Bay Beach is the place to snorkel :) in my opinion. Been back for 2 one week land trips after our first cruise visit and have dove (we are divers) in many locations. We snorkel too and have snorkeled all over the location. http://www.infinitybay.com/modules/photo_gallery/category/Resort# check out the aerial picture of the resort showing the reef right off the beach. Click on the picture and it will enlarge - That is just a small part of it. Roatan is amazing - have fun !
